Mashup is very interesting. It is involved in a lot of fields, especially in website, users can find a lot of different things in the same page, or they can combine with some kinds of tools to do each thing, it is very powerful, useful and efficient.
Before several years ago, almost each website only has a function, it is only a platform. They have no intersection with other program, if we want to search something, we have to through a lot of different programs, and it is inconvenient.
Maybe in the near future, we can use API do anything in computer, at that time, API replace with some old tools and become tool of mainstream. Now, more and more APIs are opened, this is a clear direction. According to statistics, in 2007, there were produced 10 APIs each day. It looks like pyramid，one API combine with other API. When we show those Mashup in the meantime, there will be produce a new API and share on the Internet, it form an ecology system.
In Mashup, I think the people most care about that protection of intellectual property and consumer privacy. Almost all of the users can find anything through Internet, even digging for information of somebody’s family tree, although, this is immoral.
On the other hand, everything has a double nature; advantages and disadvantages both coexist in this world. How to lower the level of the disadvantages while keeping the broader development? I think this problem need us to think deeply.
